Contract Staffing
Skilled people for a project, a peak or a gap, without adding headcount.
Some work needs the right person now, for a defined stretch: a launch, a backlog, a leave, a system change or a season. Contract staffing gives you that person without a permanent hire, and we carry the employment side.
When contract staffing makes sense
- A project with a start and an end.
- Covering a leave, a vacancy or a busy season.
- Specialized skills you need for months, not years.
- Headcount is frozen but the work still has to get done.
How it works
1. Scope the work. We learn the role, the hours, the site, how long you expect to need someone and what a good first week looks like.
2. Agree the rate. You get one hourly bill rate. It covers the contractor’s pay, payroll taxes, workers’ compensation and our margin, so there are no surprises on the invoice.
3. Meet screened people. We recruit beyond the applicant pool, check skills and references, and send people worth interviewing.
4. They start; we handle the rest. The contractor is our W-2 employee. We run payroll, onboarding paperwork and compliance.
5. Approve hours, get one invoice. You approve a weekly time card by email. Invoices follow the billing schedule you choose, with hours broken out by person and week.
What you don’t have to manage
- Payroll, withholding and payroll taxes.
- Workers’ compensation and unemployment insurance.
- Onboarding paperwork and employment eligibility.
- Ending or extending the assignment when plans change.
If you want to keep them
Contractors sometimes become the hire you didn’t know you needed. If that might happen, start with contract-to-hire so the path to a permanent offer is agreed up front.
For contractors
Contract roles are posted with their hourly pay on our jobs page. You work for Recruit 619 on the client’s site, submit hours weekly and are paid through our payroll.
